Antisemitic Domestic Terrorist to Speak at University

 The State University of New York at Brockport has invited a convicted domestic terrorist and co-founder of an antisemitic organization to be its featured speaker at an April 6 event.  Anthony Bottom, also known as Jalil Muntaqim, was a member of the Black Liberation Army (BLA), a domestic terror group that was responsible for a series of bombings and murders during the 1970s and 80s. A 1991 Maryland State Police report said that killing police officers was among the BLA's stated goals. Group members killed at least 15 police officers. Bottom was involved in three of those murders. He was convicted in the cold-blooded 1971 shooting deaths in of two New York Police Department officers, Joseph Piagentini and Waverly Jones, and SFPD Sgt. John Young

Recent news reports from the United Kingdom are heralding the reinvigoration of a prison unit specifically designed for terrorists.

Officials hope that, by creating a specialized prison-within-a-prison, they can reduce the threat of radicalization among the general prison population.  Read in IPT News...

IPT Senior Fellow Patrick Dunleavy Discusses ISIS Recent Attack on Syrian Prison

 


The January 2022 ISIS attack on a prison in the Syrian city of Hasakeh in an attempt to free several hundred incarcerated members of the terror group demonstrates that ISIS does not see prison as the end of the line for its followers.  ISIS itself was formed in 2004 in an Iraqi prison known as Camp Bucca, named after FDNY member Ronald Bucca who died in the 9/11 attacks.  The attack also shows the resurgence of the insurgency group as a force to be reckoned with. We need to be just as committed in stamping out this radical terror group.
